Tabloid is the new broadsheet

Jilly and Darral were two of the 150 guests invited to the launch party of the brand new Birmingham Post at Fort Dunlop.

The city’s revamped broadsheet is now a “compact, concise and connected” tabloid according to editor Marc Reeves and, aside from a few teething issues, the first paper looked to do pretty well in fulfilling its aims.

It’s certainly a radical departure from the old format, not least in the Post’s desire to deliver a multi-media news platform and that will mean a wider choice of how news is received by its audience. Amongst the changes will be a greater emphasis on local business issues, so there are certainly interesting times ahead as the post looks to gain a foothold with young professionals as well as maintain its current status within the local community.
