For those chocolate lovers…

With the home of Cadbury Chocolate being here in Birmingham and with Easter fast approaching, we at Barques thought we would give all you chocolate lovers 5  choctastic facts:

  1. Cadbury launched a milk chocolate egg in 1905, revolutionising the market.” this means it’s 106 years old!
  2. In 2009 Selfridges had an egg containing a Gold Bullion Britannia coin for sale for £1,000, billing it as “the ultimate alternative investment for chocoholics”.
  3. One of the most expensive eggs on offer in 2006 was the unique Diamond Stella Egg – a chocolate egg laden with diamonds – which came with a £50,000 price tag.
  4. The most popular chocolate egg worldwide is Cadbury’s Creme Egg, they first went on sale in 1971.
  5. A giant Easter egg made by Duc d’O Belgian, weighing 4.5kg and measuring 2 foot 6 inches is for sale for Easter 2011 priced at £169.95.
