Barques have won a four-way pitch to secure the marketing for Gladmans’ latest site in Bevercotes, Nottinghamshire. The East Midlands site, to be known as Vertical Park, has the potential to be the largest single unit available in the country of 2m sq ft with 29m eaves. Barques has been tasked with the full marketing promotion for Vertical Park, including the branding, brochure, email campaign,

Barques Design were pleased to be charged with creating a website of epic proportions to accompany the merger of West Midlands signage giants Hollywood Signs and their sister company Monster Digital to form Hollywood Monster.

The Barques web design team originally approached Hollywood with two very different proposals, one ’straight’ and one, let’s just say, a bit more interesting. As is not often the case, we’re pleased to say that the Hollywood Monster team chose the latter.

What Barques and Hollywood Monster have achieved is a striking online experience which, we believe, reflects the massive scale and unrivaled range of a company that will no doubt continue to dominate their market in and around the city.

While the main site is Flash based, which enabled us to really ‘go to town’ with the interactivity, we’ve also helped Hollywood Monster create a small social network of sorts by using well established web tools including Twitter, Facebook, Flickr and a Blog, all of which will vastly improve their Google hits and will be easily managed in house.

In addition, the new website will automatically redirect Blackberry and iPhone users to a ‘mobile site’ which is optimised to be gentler on your phone bill and distilled to deliver important info clearly on the small screen.

Stoford Add New Dimension to Online Portfolio

Here at Barques we’ve had the pleasure of working with Stoford for some years now and so were very pleased to be asked to pitch for and subsequently win the opportunity to design and build their new website.

Stoford wanted to move the focus of their website away from news and work updates and focus upon some of the outstanding projects in which they’ve been involved over the last 12 years.

Armed with the brief to create a memorable online experience around the company portfolio, we set about building the proposed site which pivoted around an innovative, highly interactive navigation system.

The idea began as a blue spinning cube, essentially an ‘extruded’ Stoford logo, placed within a virtual online space where it can be ‘played’ with. By maintaining the spacial orientation the finished site content flows and floats within the virtual stage rather than sitting on the page like an ‘ordinary’ website.

Thanks to a clear sense of direction and, in no small part, to the organisation and enthusiasm of our friends at Stoford, this extensive new site went from conception to completion in just six weeks. We’ve built heavily on our experience and understanding of the medium with this complex project and are very pleased to be adding it to our own portfolio.

Chic city eatery The Oriental has been given a new web identity thanks to the team here at Barques, with a striking new website to complement the innovative cuisine and decor on offer at the fine dining restaurant. Located in Birmingham’s prestigious Mailbox, the restaurant offers original Chinese, Malaysian and Thai cuisine with stunning views over the canal.

We have created a new web identity for the highly acclaimed Thai Edge restaurants located in Birmingham, Cardiff and Leeds. The owners wanted a site that complimented the contemporary oriental design of the cuisine and a forum through which they could communicate better with their customers.

The fresh new site is fully content managed giving them the freedom to update it with the latest offers and news. Customers are able to download menus, register for deals, post reviews and see the latest events on the Thai Edge blog.

Up Front with Livery Place

Barques created this front page ad for client Highcross as featured in the latest issue of Commercial Property Register. The design runs along side the current mailing campaign that focuses on ‘great location, without the cost’. The scheme, Livery Place, situated opposite Snow Hill Station in central Birmingham, is an intelligent grade A office space offering cutting edge connectivity, sustainability and energy efficiency whilst being flexible and cost effective.

The work forms part of our on-going marketing campaign for Livery Place based on the ethos ’smarter office thinking’.
This is one of two high profile schemes we are working on for Highcross.

The Birmingham based hardware store is seeking to expand its trade business and attract new business account customers who can enjoy low prices on a vast range of trade and hardware supplies.
