Crew
Getting on board with a crew you want to work with is very important – At barques we find the time to get on with all our clients, which brings the best out of everyone and in turn, we believe delivers the best results.
We steer a steady course. We are not pretentious, precious or pushy, we are just a nice bunch of people, full of energy and enthusiasm for getting things done. All ship shape and Bristol fashion.

jilly cosgrove - managing director
Jilly has over 16 years experience working in the property marketing industry, so what there is to know in this sector, she knows. As founder of the agency back in 1989, Jilly is rightly proud of where the agency is today. Organised to the point of obssession, Jilly keeps the agency running tickety boo.
Outside of work Jilly loves to play golf and enjoys the odd glass of wine, but of course being a professional she never takes things too far...
If i was stuck on a desert island I would take:
“A bottle of champagne. Well, it beats seawater!”

mark terry - creative director
With his early years spent at a top London agency, Mark joined Barques Design in 1991. Jilly and Mark hit it off straight away and have grown the agency together. Mark being the creative brain of the agency is a stickler for great design and will not accept anything less from his team.
He is a massive music buff both playing and listening and has a large, eclectic music collection. Wandering into Mark & Dave's studio you can be treated to anything from Frank Sinatra to Depeche Mode to the theme tune from Stingray!
If i was stuck on a desert island I would take:
"A coat hanger. To hang my suit up when I go for a dip."

vicki luckhurst - client services
Vicki has over 8 years agency experience, previously working with large advertising agencies such as McCann-Erickson and Big Communications. Vicki has loads of client management experience in the property sector, working with names such as DTZ Debenham Tie Leung, NAI Fuller Peiser, King Sturge, GVA Grimley and Stoford Developments.
Vicki loves socialising with her friends and family. She also responds to the name Judith Chalmers given her fondness for holidays.
If i was stuck on a desert island I would take:
"Juicy Tubes lipgloss"

darral lambert - account director
Darral has 18 years experience in both PR and advertising, both client and agency side working on property, recruitment and retail including, amongst others, The British Army, David Wilson Homes, Hammonds furniture and NatWest.
His passions are curiously paradoxical. On one hand, Shakespeare and medieval religious art and, on the other, Darral loves nothing more than watching two of his three children play junior league football at weekends.
If i was stuck on a desert island I would take:
"Two jumpers and one football - someone else would soon drop by."

sam kavanagh - marketing assistant
Sam comes to us from a busy, London based agency, where she gained experience in PR and new business. After a couple of years she’d had enough of the big city decided to spread her wings and migrate north to Birmingham. Here she found her new family at Barques.
She brings with her a background in graphic design and a serious passion
for art and media.
Sam’s greatest achievement is breaking a Guinness World Record for the fastest 100 metres ran in a pantomime horse costume. She was the head.
If i was stuck on a desert island I would take:
"An unlimited supply of Flying Saucers (the sweets). Can’t live without them!"

linda watkins - accounts
Linda (aka Loopy, because she just is) is the lady that makes sure the money side of things runs nice and smoothly. She also looks after our Job Management System that keeps track of all ongoing jobs on screen. Loops is the valuable backbone to the Agency.
A real foodie, Loops is never seen without a Marks & Spencer bag and we love her because she often treats us to some tasty snacks.
If i was stuck on a desert island I would take:
"A carrier bag. So I can pretend I’m still getting my retail fix every lunchtime."

dave elliott - head of new media
Dave was in the first generation of kids to grow up with computers (who remembers the ZX80?) After completing a degree in 'Electronic Media', he got a job designing CD Roms and videos. Then, in the mid 90s, this new interweb thingy really started to become popular, so he began applying his wealth of experience in 'on screen' design to the internet too.
Previously, he's worked for various top new media companies around the North West and the Midlands, for clients such as Hyundai, Martin Dawes, Financial Times and Barrs Soft Drinks.
If i was stuck on a desert island I would take:
"Fully fueled helicopter"

marie linekar - senior designer
Marie joined Barques in the mid 90s, and has since helped to build an impressive portfolio of stunning work. Despite knowing Mark from a previous company, she still feels she made the right decision.
Marie could be described as very small and very loud - definitely not someone you’d miss. She loves to socialise and have lots of fun. She also likes to do this when she is not at work.
If i was stuck on a desert island I would take:
"A ladder so i can reach the coconuts in the trees!"

scott heeks - senior designer
With over 16 years working in the Industry, Scott has worked on many blue chip accounts including 3M, Castrol and Exel. He is an 'attention to detail' freak and has great experience working in branding and corporate ID creation.
Despite a dubious taste in rock music Scott enjoys a myriad of top pop acts as well as swimming, cinema, playing guitar (both real and air) and the occasional round of golf.
If i was stuck on a desert island I would take:
"My ipod with solar charger."

ian cooper - designer
Ian has gained oodles of all round experience as a designer and artworker. He has worked in both printing and advertising and has freelanced for several agencies around the midlands before choosing Barques Design as his permanent base. Making sure that the designer's work is printed to the quality intended Ian is not afraid to try his hand at anything and has worked on all sorts of projects from magazine design to 3D illustration.
A self confessed grumpy old man at 28 (no surely not!) Ian has simple tastes, loud punk, real ale and eating.
If i was stuck on a desert island I would take:
"A Pipe and a pair of Slippers."
