Today marks 25 years since Jilly Cosgrove founded Barques. The company’s success is a result of its hard working and talented team and a wide range of supportive clients, many of whom have been Barques supporters for years.
It’s a very happy occasion for us at Barques HQ and to celebrate we threw a party at Fleet Street Kitchen. We spent the evening admiring pop culture successes from 1989. Albums, films and TV shows that came out 25 years ago decorated the walls, which included Nirvana’s Bleach, Honey I Shrunk the Kids and Saved by the Bell. (Feeling old yet?)
Scrumptious food was enjoyed by all and in true “Jilly style” the fizz flowed all evening. The soundtrack comprised of classic hits from, you guessed it, 1989. Our very own Digital Account Manager and resident DJ, Mat Jones even took a turn spinning the decks.
No party would be complete without a few words. Jilly and fellow director, Mark Terry were eager to comply. They both took to the microphone to express their joy at reaching this milestone, surviving not one but two recessions.
To celebrate the occasion even further, Barques has undergone a brand refresh! Our new website is up and running long with new signage, marketing collateral and of course, our branded Mini. It’s been a labour of love, but we got there in the end and we hope you like it.
The business, that started with two people, has since grown to 17 staff and has seen the introduction of both a PR and digital team. It proudly boasts clients in a wide spectrum of sectors including property, construction, manufacturing, IT, retail, B2C, education and culture and heritage.
Here’s to another 25 years!
