The Midlands commercial real estate sector came together at the annual BRENDAs awards, raising over £45,000 for Property for Kids.

This year’s “Race Across Birmingham” themed event, held on Friday 23rd May, brought together more than 380 professionals to generate funds to support disadvantaged children across the West Midlands.

Having been a fixture on the Birmingham property calendar for over two decades, and raising more than £550,000 since its inception, the 2025 BRENDAs (Birmingham Real Estate Novel Development Awards) was hosted by a new committee.

Long-time organiser and Property for Kids chairman, Jilly Cosgrove handed over the reins for the BRENDAs 2025, as did Ed Gamble, Lucy Moore and Simon Marks — a transition that brought in the next generation.

“Another fantastic year at the BRENDAs, and I couldn’t be prouder of the team we’ve passed the baton to,” said Jilly Cosgrove. “I can rest assured that the event is in safe hands as all involved delivered an excellent event. It was a very different experience personally to be able to sit and enjoy the afternoon without trepidation! A huge thank you must go to everyone who helped us raise money again this year. I’m already excited to see what’s to come next year.”

The 2025 committee — Jack Soars, Helen Andrews, Emma Cosgrove, Charlotte Fullard, Gemma Blacker, Chris Keogh, and Stuart Tym — was praised for delivering another incredible BRENDAs event entertaining audiences while fundraising, including £20,000 to provide a safe play area for Zoe’s Place, Coventry.
