Bold new brand supports a decade of world leading research

To mark its 10th anniversary, the University of Birmingham’s IGI-IAS department needed a refreshed brand to highlight its global impact.

We worked with IGI-IAS to create a visual identity that captured its unique, cross-disciplinary research focus. Discovery sessions revealed a deeply collaborative culture, which inspired a brand built around concentric rings, with each one representing a field of expertise. Three primary colours reflect the university’s foundation, while a bold palette and dynamic graphic system express the breadth of the institute’s work.

The animated identity was rolled out across digital and physical channels, creating a cohesive and engaging presence that honours the department’s legacy, while looking confidently ahead.
